How many coins are in a roll?

The usual U.S. wrappers hold 50 pennies, 40 nickels, 50 dimes, 40 quarters, 20 half dollars or 25 dollar coins. A quarter roll totals $10; a dime roll totals $5. Check your wrapper and count its contents before depositing.

From a jar to full wrappers

Full wrappers = whole coin count divided by coins per roll, rounded down. Leftovers are the coins remaining. Face value includes both wrapped and loose coins. For example, 88 quarters make two complete rolls and leave eight quarters: $22 in total.

A counting fee applies to total face value here. Bank acceptance, customer requirements and machine fees vary. These results use denomination only; silver, errors and collectible premiums are separate.

Before cashing in, use Coin Jar Triage to decide what needs a closer look, then log your search in Coin Hunt Atlas.

Dollar amount mode works backward from face value: $22 in quarters represents 88 coins. Amounts that cannot equal whole coins are rejected. Changing modes clears quantities so coin counts, rolls and dollars do not get mixed.
