The U.S. Mint has marked Red Ribbon Week with a message on its social pages. The week runs from October 23 through 31, 2026. In its October 23 post, the Mint says it joins the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA, in marking the week.
This year's theme is “Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free.” The Mint's message supports healthy choices and drug-free communities. It links readers to the campaign's website to learn more.
The dates and message
You can read the full message in the Mint's October 23 Instagram post. The matching post on X also links to RedRibbon.org.
Red Ribbon Week falls on the same dates each year, according to the National Family Partnership's campaign website. Its October 13 message from the group's president explains the 2026 theme.
The DEA's Red Ribbon page has more background and links to resources. The agency says parents, teachers and communities can use the week to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with children all year.
Where this fits in Mint news
The post shares the Mint's support for the campaign. It does not announce a coin, medal, sale or visitor event. The dates refer to Red Ribbon Week, rather than a new coin release.
If you keep a file of Mint news, save the post with its October 23 date. Use the linked campaign pages to read about the week itself. A coin's price, design and sales terms need their own product source.
The Mint's press-release list is a separate place to follow formal news. For a recent coin story, see CoinHub's Gettysburg Address quarter report. It explains when the quarter entered change, when the launch took place and when the collector products go on sale.
